Tomatoes produced in the greenhouses heated by geothermal water in Sandıklı Afyonkarahisar in Turkey are being sold in many countries, especially Russia, the Netherlands and Austria. In 25 modern geothermal greenhouses, even if the temperature drops to 25 degrees below zero, the production of cluster tomatoes will continue in summer and winter.

Hüseyin Aktürk, Aktürk's greenhouse operations manager, stated that 70% of their products are exported: "We export tomatoes to 10 countries. These countries include Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria and the Netherlands."

Aktürk explained that the greenhouse is heated with geothermal water at 50 to 55 degrees Celsius, and they claim that they have achieved more effective results in winter. Aktürk pointed out that the demand from abroad this year is quite good. He said: “Due to the coronavirus, production in other countries has dropped significantly. This situation has brought additional benefits to our country. The demand in European countries is very high. We are also shipping to Russia. Lots of tomatoes."
